BREAKING: Schools will be closed on Dec 23rd

DOE finally agrees to what everyone else already knew was common sense

UNITY/UFT helped push for this and is now excited to announce that on December 23rd NYC Public Schools will be closed as part of the Christmas break.

Following the near universal outcry from students (Whats up with Dec 23?) families (CEC 21 Resolution) and educators (UFT Exec Board Unanimously Passes Resolution calling for schools to close onDec 23rd) the DOE has finally agreed to what everyone already knew to be true: it just doesn’t make sense for schools to be open on December 23rd.
