Norm Scott to Retirees: There’s no urgency for you to have higher pension checks

Opposition leader Norm Scott told the Delegate Assembly: “No.”
At the October 16th Delegate Assembly the Unity Caucus proposed a resolution which called for a COLA increase (cost of living adjustment) which would benefit retirees with higher monthly pensions.
Norm Scott objected. For Norm, it’s more important to be oppositional for the sake of being oppositional. He proposed postponing this important resolution just to be disagreeable. He doesn’t care even if it means potentially harming retirees.
Luckily, the Delegate Assembly, including members of his own Retiree Advocate caucus, many of whom appeared bewildered, saw through his political games and passed the resolution by an overwhelming 93%.
The Unity Caucus is committed to fighting to enhance pensions for our retirees, we don’t have time for games.
