Snow Day Announcement – Monday, 2/23/26 to be a Traditional Snow Day!
Earlier today the Mayor announced that tomorrow, Monday, 2/23/26, will be a Traditional Snow Day for New York City Public Schools.
A Traditional Snow Day, for those new to the Department of Education, means that there will be no pivot to remote instruction or requirement to appear in-person. Please stay home and be safe!
Additionally, I am pleased to announce that the UFT and the Department of Education worked together to receive a waiver from the Governor, so no make-up day will be required.
Take the time to rest, be with your families, and avoid unnecessary travel as conditions may be hazardous. Your safety and well-being come first.
